SFA Soccer To Host Day Camp

July 16, 2008

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin soccer program will put on a five-day non-residential camp for youth players next week. The camp will run from July 21 through 25 and will be held on campus at the SFA Soccer Complex.

The camp is designed for players who want to work on improving their skill while enjoying many different types of soccer games. All instruction will be provided by SFA coaches and players.

A typical day will begin with a warm-up, then a fun game, followed by a rotating trip through various skills stations designed to improve each player's ability. At the end of each day, the campers will take part in a 4v4 tournament against other campers of their age. Each camp participant will receive a free camp T-shirt, soccer ball and skill sheet.

Campers have the option of participating in the full-day or the half-day camp. Younger players, ages 5-to-7, can sign up for the half-day camp which lasts from 9 a.m. to noon. The full-day camp lasts from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to campers ages 6-to-14.

For cost, applications, and more information, contact the SFA soccer program by calling (936) 468-3506 or by e-mail at soccer@sfasu.edu.
